David Strassman

DAVID STRASSMAN “CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR!”   Riotously funny! An all new comedy creation from the twisted mind of Strassman. Alternate realities? Parallel universes? Strassman's side-splitting new show tumbles down the rabbit hole -- a mind-bending journey where nothing is as it seems. Chuck and Ted E. Bare are back, transformed by a strange 'wish" into bizzaro-alternate selves. The road home may be scary for Strassman… but an hilarious scream for us!  What have the critics said? At the Edinburgh Festival, The List said “Absolute genius. The writing is truly superb and the performance – or should that be performances? – breathtaking in linguistic and ventriloquistic dexterity.  Takes the ancient art of ventriloquism up several notches.”

James Morrison's Motown Show

West Leagues Club - Wed 13 June 2012  James Morrison is bringing Motown to West Leagues, New Lambton. The large-scale show, developed this year and featuring classic Motown music, features four vocalists, as part of an 11-piece band, including a horn section led by virtuoso trumpeter Morrison. Morrison and his band will deliver an evening concert at Wests New Lambton on Wednesday June 13th 2012.    Morrison remembers Motown as the music of his youth - even as a jazz fan, he recalls being surrounded by the music of Stevie Wonder.  He said he had always included a Motown number or two in his jazz shows, which he and the crowd enjoyed enough to encourage the development of a full Motown show. He said audience response to Motown music was instantaneous, like flicking a switch.   “Everyone instantly starts singing and dancing and clapping their hands,” he said. He said the songs’ appeal was due to the depth of their lyrics and melody, which gave them longevity beyond that of the average disposable Top 40 hit.  He said all the best Motown songs told a story and featured a memorable melody, and “on top of that, you’ve got a really funky groove.”  The band works to emulate the original Motown sound, exploring it further by extending the songs with solos and further jamming by Morrison’s experienced band. During the show, Morrison also discusses the origins of Motown, and the stories behind many well-known Motown tracks. Tickets On Sale Now - West Leagues Club – 4935 1200
